

Melissa Moholt-Siebert (Owner) was born in Montana, and grew up in Portland, Oregon. Her first passion and career, was cellular neuroscience research. She graduated from Pomona College, where she met her husband Ken. After graduate studies and many years in research laboratories, Melissa started Ancient Oak with Ken in 2006.

Greg La Follette, "Captain Crush", has degrees in Plan Biology, Chemistry and Food Science. Research and experimentation have been hallmarks of his winemaking career, beginning with Andre Tchelitcheff, and later building Flowers winery and Tandem/La Follette winery. Greg is widely known in the industry, and his experience with wild yeast fermentation is renowned.

Ken Moholt-Siebert (Owner), a native of Berkeley, prepared for his farm career by studying Classics at UC Berkeley and then Pomona College, later receiving a MA in Architecture from the University of Oregon. Ken was very close to his grandparents when growing up and spent summers and holidays working the ranch with his grandfather, Henry. Ken developed an abiding love for the farm, which was why, after two decades as an architect, Ken chose to carry forward another generation in farming.

Arnulfo has worked for Ken and for Ken's grandfather, Henry, before that. He knows every vine.
